India world's PPE manufacturer
Arch Pharmaceuticals Services on Monday said India has become the world's second-largest personal protective hardware (PPE) manufacturer with a turnover of Rs 6,000 crore from 1,200 manufacturers making 450,000 units every day.
PPE packs are a major line of protection for healthcare workers against irresistible diseases like COVID-19. His creation was scuttled in March amid growing interest in him as the Covid-19 pandemic worsened.
The production of units and other defensive hardware was banned in March to ensure adequate supplies were received by the central government, resulting in the states being exempted from costs.
In June, the service allowed a commodity of 500,000 PPE packs month on month. In July, India traded 2,300,000 PPE packs across five countries.
The government allowed PPE to be shipped amid requests from the business as it started making surplus kits.
